George Millam, a founding father of Edina, came to Minnesota as a 21-year-old immigrant from Balnamoon, Scotland. After a short time working at the Richfield mill, he was hired by fellow Scotsman Andrew Craik to run the Edina mill.

The man at the helm of one of the most award-winning craft distilleries in the United States is Edina native Alan Dietrich. Bendistillery, based in Bend, Ore., produces handcrafted spirits, including Crater Lake vodka and Crater Lake gin. Dietrich moved to Bend after graduating from St.

 

If it plays in the Big Apple, it must play in Edina, too. Pilates ProWorks, New York City’s best Pilates studio according to Citysearch, opened its 10th location nationwide this fall in Centennial Lakes Plaza.

 

In a community brimming with possibilities for youth, Meg Rodriguez and Idith Almog created EdinaGiveandGo.org to ensure enrichment activities are available to all students, regardless of socio-economic barriers.

Karen Kelly didn’t quit when Vantage Point, the publisher that offered to print her first novel, Prospice, suddenly closed its doors. Instead, the Edina mom self-published the book under her own trademark, Legitur Books.
